Blogthings personality test ...

Bleh...too bo liao so tried out a few "tests" and here are the results...

Your Brain is 53% Female, 47% Male

Your brain is a healthy mix of male and female
You are both sensitive and savvy
Rational and reasonable, you tend to keep level headed
But you also tend to wear your heart on your sleeve

Bleh...looks okay to me. And no, I will not marry someone even if he's a billionaire (if I'm a girl)

People Envy Your Compassion

You have a kind heart and an unusual empathy for all living creatures. You tend to absorb others' happiness and pain.

People envy your compassion, and more importantly, the connections it helps you build. And compassionate as you are, you feel for them.

I hope that's true...Haha.

How You Live Your Life

You seem to be straight forward, but you keep a lot inside.

You're laid back and chill, but sometimes you care too much about what others think.

You tend to have one best friend you hang with, as opposed to many aquaintences.

You tend to always dream of things within reach - and you usually get them.

This one is very true cause I know myself. I am someone like that.

Last few things I want to learn......

Only a little more than a month till I step into the Army, so I'm going to use this next 2 weeks or so to finish up what I wanted to learn. Went to the library just now to pick up a few books (probably the last time to borrow) to progress on TCZ site I'm working on.

Been spending the whole last week doing this, which is basically a revision of server side web and my first attempt in doing a full site completely designed using css. Going very well so far and hope I can finished it up soon.

Very happy with myself cause I went running for a total of 5 times already so far. (Every single day from Monday to Friday) I think I've started out in late May running like 3 times a week. Now, I make it a point to run at least 5 times a week (unless it's raining)

Also did a breakthrough today! I ran for 9 rounds! Since last week I've make it a point to try to run for 8 rounds instead of the normal 6. Now I can take 8 rounds pretty well without "dying" at the end of the run. Also managed to did 6 pull-ups on 1 occassion! (Last time "die die" only can reach 4)

I'm going to try something drastic next week...I know things like 10km march is a common thing in the army (and 8 rounds is only 3.2km). Think I'll try running for 18 rounds one of these days and take it very slowly first. Maybe even 1 song 1 round. (So I can listen to the whole forever album every morning)

S.H.E Forever!

I've got it! I've got it! Wee! Time passes by so fast...it's already their 9th album! I still can remember very clearly the first time I went to buy their album...Mei Li Xin Shi Jie. Feels like yesterday but now it's already the 2nd compilation...Whew... Every single one of their album represents a certain period in my life and holds a special meaning~

Don't know why...suddenly 心血来潮...want to take a photograph of my entire S.H.E Collection. I think it's because I'm going to the Army soon...

Anyway...I was freaking amazed and shocked myself that I've accumulated sooo much S.H.E items over the years. Everytime I get an item, I would admire it for a while and keep it at the very top of my cupboard for "safe-keeping". Yesterday I finally brought all of them to "see the daylight" again...and...

My Complete S.H.E Collection To Date (24th July 2006)

Top left: All the 9 official albums
Top Mid: All the albums VCD / DVD / OST
Top Right: Offiical Posters / Calenders / Files that comes with the albums
Bottom Left: Mainly books, pictorals and "bo liao" stuff I brought...
Bottom Mid: Idol Drama series...poker card decks.
Bottom Right: All the magazines with S.H.E content that I've collected over the years...

Whew...that's most of it (still some misc items that I didn't include)...even I was a bit shocked myself. Brought back so much memories when I flipped through the older albums and pictorals...

Like the first S.H.E pictoral, I travelled half way around Singapore and ask at so many locations before I finally got it. Then Mei Li Xin Shi Jie album...I was so freaking excited when I got my hands on it that I dashed all the way from the bus-stop back to my house just to listen to it... Hahaha...I can probably write a short paragraph on 80% of all the items above if I want...

But nevermind. Talking about their 9th Album. "触电" is an excellent Jay Song (typical fom Jay...), but I'll still rank it last among the 4. "Ring Ring Ring" is totally spoiled by the verse. The chorus is excellent but the verses (and the stupid rap) brought it down.

I think it's a very sad album overall. The first time I listened to it. First 2 songs was like, lively and all. 3rd song totally brought my mood down. The 4th song came and I was...whew so sad. Then 5th song. Geez. Totally bring your mood to rock-bottom. One sad song after another consecutively, each sadder than the previous...very nice arrangement...

Overall excellent album, the only imperfect aspect being H.I.M decided that including "Zhu Da" (aka those that more people know) is more important than including songs that are really S.H.E's finest.

This album would be perfect if they do away with "波斯猫" and "不想长大" (which were obviously picked because they're the "Zhu Da"), and of course "I.O.I.O" (totally different league from the rest of the compiled songs). Replaced them with "我爱你", "不做你的朋友" and "河滨公园" then perfect liao...And Hebe new duet should have been included since Selina's is incuded! Can see obviously H.I.M still 有所保留 on this album, in terms of the compiled songs or the new songs (which are not that "groundbreaking").

Inside the album...is nice to see they left messages for the fans...Ella is afraid that they wouldn't have a 3rd compilation...Hebe said their 感情 are beyond "Forever".

It's pretty interesting. Their 1st compilation is call "Together". The 2nd compilation is call "Forever". Together Forever~

What's Happiness?

Was watching 有话就说 (Just Shoot) and the topic of discussion was about the happiness level of Singaporeans. In the recent survey, Singapore was ranked around 120+ country in the happiness level and the 2nd most unhappy country in South East Asia. (When it is like the most effluent country in the region) This episode invoke some thinkings within me...

I believe happiness is unique to any individual and not everyone feels happy when they experience the same thing. A person may feel happy when he gets to eat a bowl of rice. Someone may not be happy until he earn a million dollars. I realized people can be unhappy over the smallest thing after watching the show. Girls can be frustrated and angry because they are a little fat or parents are unhappy when their children dont listen to them.

They shared a story about a artist that particularly admire this painting. Later, when he hanged it up on the wall, he found that the nail is a hinderence and he changed to another nail. Then he found the frame doesn't match the painting and he changed it again. He kept changing and changing to order to find perfection but in the end, he has forgotten why he liked the painting in the first place. Sometimes, people get lost in their pursue of happiness, and p eople tends to judge their level of happiness based comparision, either with others or with themselves in the past.

For example, if a person is earning $1000 a month and his income is suddenly increased 10 times, he would feel utmost happiness. But if your income were in the millions but now you're earning $50000, you would be unhappy. They invited the founder of Tang Cheng who used to hold assets of billions in his prime but became bankrupt during the 1997 financial crisis to speak about his experience. It seems that during his peak, he doesn't even realize he is rich, because he is always in pursue of more money. It's only after he lost everything does he realized what he used to have.

Shen Jiang commented, "Many people have the "Genghis Khan mentality". Always galloping the horse, charging towards the target, in pursue to conquer more lands, to eliminate more foes. Genghis Khan the great conquerer, created the largest empire history ever known (2/3 of the world) but in the end what does it all means? Nothing. You look up and it's the blue sky, and you're standing on hard ground. Nothing matters."

Anyway...here's a very good quote I got from the show:

快乐是自己找的,不快乐是别人给的。

I thought about it and feel this is very true. I believe unhappiness can never come from within yourself. Unhappiness is always an external factor. Like you failed your exams, the girl you like doesn't like you, something bad happened to someone...etc...

On the other hand, if you want happiness, it can only come from within yourself. If you got 90 marks for your test and you're not contented because last time you scored 100, you feel lousy. If you strike $100,000 lottery and you think, "Wah Lau! If I bet more more I could have won a million". You started to regret why you didnt bet more money instead of being happy.

Your inner self gives "permission" to yourself to be happy. You can be happy over the smallest thing (Like I woke up today and I'm still alive! I'm so happy!) or still be unhappy even when the greatest fortune falls upon you. We also cherish things that are hard to come by:

For example, you wouldn't exclaim "Ah! 感谢水, 我有水可以喝" everytime you drink water. You wouldn't be grateful that you have water to drink, but people in 3rd-world country would probably see this as the greatest happiness. This is the same with relationship (family or love). Usually at the start the guy is like so crazy over the girl, send flowers and remember every single important dates (even lame stuff like "100th date since we started dating"). But let's see a husband do that to his wife...When a "happiness" is around you long enough, it becomes 理所当然 and you would only realize it is a "happiness" once you lose it.

Devil Beside You...

阿猛:我有预感。。。我会一辈子只喜欢你。。。

Bleh...just finished watching the idol drama 恶魔在身边 on SCV. Not bad show. At first I wasn't really interested (I'm not a fan of idol drama...unless the cast consists of people I like), but Waicheng kept "psycho-ing" me to watch.

Didn't follow it from beginning to end, but happened to catch 1 episode on SCV. Erm, like not bad so I started watching (since I have nothing much to do anyway). Funny, exagerrated and some parts are quite sweet. And of course Raine Yang is always nice to have. Notice some cliche about idol drama (and love films in generally):

- When a girl runs away or went missing, her BF (or the guy that like her) will always be the one that will locate her even though there's like 10 other people going on a mass search. (Same for guy went missing). How come so "zhun"? How come it can't be other people?

- When there's like a touching scene where the couple hug each other......it is almost guaranteed to rain.

- The "just in time" crap. Like the guy manage to made the girl stayed just 5 minutes before she's going to leave the country. Or in one huge city area the guy will manage to find the girl just before she gets rape... -_- And manage to get back to a competition "just in time" to take over and win the game. (All done in 20 minutes...superman?)

Overall good show but then...felt that the plot is a bit too illogical at some points. Like why the hell would someone leave all your close friends, family, etc...that you've been living together with say for 18 years, to go overseas and live with someone you barely know?

Anyway...see the quote above? That's the quote the male lead (阿猛) told the female lead (齐悦) before he left the country in the final episode...basically telling her to wait for his return. The original ending to the show is he returned 1 year later and they got together again. Live happily ever after...Yawn...

Let's say he doesn't return.......

My version of the ending

10 years later...齐悦 is still waiting for 阿猛 to return...

One day, she opens her mailbox and saw a letter...

Which reads...

对了。。。忘了告诉你。。。我的预感。。。通常是不准的。

Tips for reporting errors

Sometimes, it's really frustrating when you're working with people that have no clue what they want and don't even want to give some basic information to help you out a bit.

When there's errors with a program, it's almost common sense that you include what the error is, where is occurs, and if possible how it occurs (under what circumstances). Even if you are so clueless and don't know anything, at least tell me the error message. I cant' believe they can send me things ilke:

"I tried to open the fla but couldn't. Gives error."
"I recieved an error when I try to publish the fla file".
"I got 2 error messages when I open the swf."

Geez! At least tell me what the error is! Is it so difficult for you to cut and paste the error message or do a screenshot? I am not god and don't know what is wrong with your computer, or what you did to tamper with the files to result in that error (because it works perfectly fine on my com).

Turn out in the end they didn't include the necessary external files (cause they like to "ji siao" and move the files around), which I has told them many many times that it must be contained in the root folder or else the fla file cannot read it, and will result in error. Never listen. Not 3 year old kids liao leh...simple things also must repeat so many times. Geez.

Oh yeah, one thing is last week I went to POSB bank to do a passbook update (using the machine) and got "Error 2! Please approach the desk for help" message. And after a long queue to ask the desk person, I found out that there is no problem with the machine or my account book. It's because there is nothing to update. Nothing to update = Error 2. Cool...... A professional, huge, international organization can have such user feedback on their machine.

Watching what I eat......(Darn chocolates)

Finally ended the 13 chapters of the "Poly Days Recount" and can get back to normal writing of my journal~

I've fallen ill again, although it's not extremely serious till I had to go see a doctor. Very "proud" of myself cause I look back and see that the last time I fell ill was August 2005. That's almost 1 year ago!

I think I'm kind of like 体弱多病...in the past. I estimate that on average I used to fell sick once every 6 months. However, felt that my health / resistance to virus got better ever since I started exercising regularly since the end of last year.

The main reason I've fallen sick this time is...can't resist the temptations for certain food... Actually my body already gave me a lot of signals that something is going wrong, but I stubbornly choose to ignore them and continue to indulge in the deliciously heavenly chocolate that my brother girlfriend brought from overseas. (She's a air stewardess) The taste is gratifying and when you slowly devour them you'll have this 幸福的感觉... So I kept eating...and eating in search for happiness. Gobble up about half a bar the first day.

Then the next morning I woke up, slight pain in the throat and constantly felt the need for water. But being the "Buay Kia Si" person, I continue to spam the chocolates. (That's not counting the nuggets my Mum fried and all sort of junk like Coke and chicken wings...)

Finally Judgement Day arrives and my body couldn't take it anymore. The next day I woke up with a burning sensation in the throat. Then followed by serious coughing and then the headache and fever. (Originally wanted to go the Palm Beach gathering with my classmates also couldnt' go)

Geez....slept throughout the entire Sunday. (didn't even make it to the supposedly Qin Jie's birthday gathering). Luckily being so fit (Hahaha) I managed to recover today just by eating pandols, drinking lots of water and consuming the "Pi Pa Gao". Whew...

Must treat this experience as a lesson...must watch what I eat more. And most importantly drink lots of water.

Poly Days 11 - Taking up Japanese

Nope...I'm not done yet. Almost though.

Now that I think about it, it's really like a "stroke of luck" or "moment of folly" that I decided to take up Japanese. I do not have any particular interest in Japanese Anime or their celebrities or even JPop (I don't think I even listen to them). So I don't even know why I took it. I think the most likely reason was because many games (particulary RPGs, which was my favourite genre at that time) were based off Japanese, so I'll probably understand the game more.

Anyway, I was taking it more as a "fun thing", and I have no intention to become super proficient in it or be able to understand Japanese films...At first I want to just take year 1 and see how it is. Quite easy, so I took year 2. Very hard...but since I've taken it for 2 years, why not just finish it. So I took for the whole 3 years. Heh.

Year 1: Ehara Sensei! I still can remember the first lesson when I stepped into the classroom (since there's no one I know) and she began rattling some Japanese. Totally catch no ball. (I can sense the whole class also sweatdrop) Anyway, first lesson was to write some 'hiragana' characters and do some 习字 kind of work.

That period was a very tough time man...getting to know 46 different characters and write them. I remembered using all kinds of strange ways to memorize them. Like "", I'll think of it as "chinese 10" followed by a "numerical 9". Then "" I'll think it as drawing a "pirate hook"...LOL. Later on, those "unorthodox" ways start to fade away and the words start to come "naturally"...heh...I think the best thing about year 1 is learning those verbs. Eat, Drink, Sleep, Go, etc...etc.

Year 2: Still taught by Ehara for the first half. "katakana", even more headache. It's not like it's more difficult than "hiragana", but because you're already super familiar with "hiragana" and now there comes another set of letters that's written differently yet sound the same with their "hiragana" counterparts. Geez. Again use same techniques (mostly is using chinese characters) to memorize. Like "" is basically a chinese word pronounced as "he".

2nd semester was more jia lat as we (Glenn and me) had to switched our lessons due to timetable constrains. Taught by...Chisato. Geez...that's like the most boring lessons ever. The class is super quiet and......dead. (I think there's only ilke 12 students every time)

Remember we did an assignment (Audio recording of Japanese storyline) with Moon Yew at Glenn house. Now I go listen still quite funny...Anyway, didn't do as well compare to year 2 because of the "tons" of module assignments. Cant' even finish the proper assignments liao how to fork out extra time to study Japanese. (Although I still forked out time to play game)

Year 3: Wee..Yukiko Sensei~! I actually felt that Year 2 is more difficult than year 3. No idea why. Year 3 seems very..."formula based". Once you know the rules, you can easily switch "forms" and do every single questions. Year 2 teaches a lot of different grammatic stuff and loads of vocabulary which require memorizing.

Anyway, 2nd semester was more "sian". Cause it was during the internship and I didnt want to take the stupid e-learning. How the hell are you going to learn a language by doing some random stuff on the net. So even though I worked till 6, I still made a point to just go attend the 1 hour lesson. (Or else I think I will totally flop the Oral)

Did an assignment about Japanese survey with glenn, where we simply anyone "pong"...Haha. Unexpectedly I did well for the 3rd year (I thought I was going to do quite bad beause of the 2nd semester). Wee~

Summary: That's it for the new Language. If you ask me now I've probably return 50% of the things I've learnt to the Senseis, but the other 50% is likely to be more useful...Haha. It's unlikely that I'll continue my studies in this language (Unless somehow something spark my interests in it again)

Didn't regret it. Very good experience. And I can actually catch some Japanese jokes when I look at the animes now...

Poly Days 10 - Graduation Day!

Yep...officially graduated and recieved my Diploma~! Wee~so happy. 3 years of hard work paid off. Time files man...Climbed Mt.E-Mei for what is probably the last time today...

Meeting Up: Met up with the group at Dover MRT...almost couldn't recognize Glenn! Only when he called out to me did I notice him...haha. His voice also became very hoarse... Anyway met Waicheng, XuanJie and went up to FC6 to eat our "last meal". Toby joined shortly after. Blast, was fake by John (Didn't know his new number) and thought it was Jerry.

The Ceremony: Was quite 'rushed' and keep misplacing stuff...Anyway was sitting beside Jolene and Ben is in front. Again didn't notice him until he called me...LOL. Haven't get used to seeing their "new face" yet. Anyway at first played a video (One part got people playing Hyper Relay...) which basically promotes their own students...Then the guests came in and a song was played (At first i thought it was the "Funeral March").

Anyway......after the VIP person gave his speech, presentation started. I think the stage is a bit too..."tropical forest". Everywhere is flowers and more flowers. I think the usher also quite "sian"...do the same action for at least 300 times...

My friend: I can remember only Ken. Very very "black face" and very attitude. She is like super"buay song". I can picture this going in his mind: "What? Not happy ar? Want give then give don't give nevermind!" when he walk over and collect his scroll. Damn funny. Oh yeah, Hong Hui was very "cute" (his actions very cartoon). I think Sean also quite "sian" attitude... Hahaha.

My Turn: Geez...I think mine is the most memorable? Hee hee. When you sit down there it feels like nothing much...A while then over. But when I started queueing can really feel a little nervousness start to build...When I was walking over to the presenter...The announcer read my name wrongly..."Bay Zhao Zhen"...Dotz. Anyway what I vaguely remember is, I paused for a silght moment when I heard the name, but then I thought "Ahhh...screw it" and just continue walking, shook the hand and left the place. Not that there's anything I can do about it......

Anyway, the announcer came up later to me to apologize...She said what, she had reherased it many times but is "slip of mouth"...Then say what she wanted to correct it but I already walked off the stage. Haizz...well what's done is done. At least my graduation day is special and memorable. Who else can have their name read wrongly at graduation ceremony? :P

My Secondary School Teacher: Wah! This is really unexpected man. Mr Siva, who didn't even teach me "directly", came over as a representative to see our school students. (Which, sadly to say, is only me...Why no one take IT!!!) They wanted to go for Matthew one too but it's in the morning and they got classes to teach.

Anyway, he's the PE teacher for the girls of our class. Reminds me partly of my secondary school days...PE Lessons...the horror. He also told me about some things never knew about, like Mr Lee going for a throat surgery early this year...luckily he's recovered and all healthy now. (He's a very very nice teacher) Anyway was quite surprised and very honored that that a teacher from there came to see me for the graduation. Geez...now I felt like doing a Secondary Recount...haha...next time next time.

Shaking Hands: Basically recieve "congraulations" from Ho Chee Meng...Lai Fook Ming...Shirley and all. Goodbye Poly!

Photos Taking: This is fun. Haha. Best part was the group photos. Basically we did 3 important ones...The first was "thumbs up for the Poly", 2nd was "punching into the air" and the 3rd was......"acting cute" (Suggested by Mengzhi I think.

Aftermath: Went to Swensen's for dinner although not everyone went as some needed to report back to camp. Ben talked about the lame jokes he "absorbed" in the army...some was really funny (I like the Snow White one) but some is really no link. After that went to sing K~!

Singing K: Usual session. I think the best thing about singing K is not actually where you get to sing, but when you get to know very nice new songs, or relive some "forgotten" songs that are really nice. When like you anyhow picked a song and it came out as some ****(aka one singing about Mao Ze Dong like the bright Sun) or it turned out to be really nice (and you heard it long time ago but forgot about it), now that's cool. We replaced almost every imaginable song with "其实不想走". Anyway, when we sang the "Ming Tian Hui Geng Hao" at the end, all like "self high". Especially Ken (Lot of action. Took down that video. Hahaha. )

Hi Stranger: On my way home, there's this guy that came up to me and commented that my "bag" (The graduation 2006 one) is very pretty. At first I thought he was from the Poly since he's wearing white shirt and black pants...later know that's he's not. He came from Malaysia to start his own business. (he's only 1 year older than me)

Any Regrets For Graduation?

Yes......my only regret is that my Mum wasn't there. Haizz....actually it's really nothing much (and I don't really mind that much). She's really too busy on that day (and I can understand) and she asked my brother to go. But I couldn't care whether my brother is there or not...LOL (He's unimportant) When Mr Quek asked me where are my parents, and I told him I'm there alone. Then he said something like "can't even make time for own children"... :( So sad...

Anyway my mum also quite sorry she didn't get to go. Then she said if the day comes where I get to wear the "Square Hat", she'll be there no matter what happens. Totally 感动...

Poly Days 9 - Towards The End

Along with the Final Year Project are 2 other modules...

JSPG: At first I was really scared I would flopped at this module cause it became really hard to catch when they reach Java Beans and stuff. I never used them in my assignment and was quite worried during the final exams. In the end the final exams come out, is a bunch of junk question, which none of us expected. (I still remember there is a 'date' question which I almost totally left blank)

The Lecturer: I forgot his name but he's a nice guy. I remember after the exam was over he came up to Ben and me (while we're waiting for taxi) and told us he's going back to his country to help his brother with his company. Good choice. Education has no future. Don't waste your life away teaching. Wish him all the best!

GAME: Well...what can I say. This module alone was one of the main reason (crazy now that I think about it) I picked this course in the first place, and I finally got to take it. Only disappointment was that it covered too little stuff! Everything is on such a superficial level...

The Lecturer: I like how Hubertus would use all kind of "actions" to make us understand. Like when he was explaining the Pacman AI, he would actually demonstrate it himself, moving around the classroom to explain the different behaviours. He was also the one that asked us to exhibit our FYP at WCG I think.

Internship: Of course the very important internship that took place after the FYP. Nothing much to say since by the time internship started I've already started blogging. (From the first interview till to end)

What I miss most about the internship is not the friends or staff there...but the food! Holland V food ownz...Also miss the bakery store and the muffins they sell there...Don't know when will get a chance to there to eat again. Heh...

So...3 years of Poly is finally over...

Tomorrow is Graduation Day!!!

Can't wait.

Poly Days 8 - Final Year Project

Prequel: We started early planning for our Final Project (Actually we already wrote the proposal the previous semesters). We had great ideas, like Avatar, chatroom and network games. I remember gathering around the FC4 top level staircase to discuss these, and even meet up to discuss at a LJS branch at Dhoby Ghaut during the holidays. Little did we know that all these effort would come to naught when......

The Meeting: We were "summoned" to a huge meeting room inside the ICT office. First time we've been there and quite nervous, added to that Ben was not feeling very well that day and had to head home. I remembered Mr Quek, Spicer and Arthur Poh in there.

Hyper Relay Meet: Aha...First meeting with the client. 3 of them came (Of course Geraldine left the deepest impression because......). We were given a magazine that sort of explains Hyper Relay, and Ben went up to talk some stuff. Best thing about that meeting was the Hyper Relay giant poster we got in my opinion...hahaha.

Brainstorming: Basically, we tried out the games and for a few times we would gather at John's place to brainstorm the ideas. After that (or even during that), they will play Burnout......

SP Hyper Relay Roadshow: Aha...that day I was slacking away playing "Long Jump" on the Lap top while the others had to went around pursuading "customers". Hahaha. Remember Xiao Hui ask me to host this "Bejeweled contest". Got to listen to Pei Xuan sing "Lao Shu Ai Da Mi"... (Mwahahaha...I still got the video of this) Of course, also the video of Sharkpeng retarded actions. Geraldine sent those to me as a whole when she sent the photos...my team never knew these video exists...LOL... Man I am smart!

The Games:
Spot The Difference (First game which we "Directly Modified" from Big Number)
Hit It (No comment...LOL)
Fire Rings (Easy to pick up, hard to master! Ben is godly at this...)
Long Jump (Nomaro leg is funny and I got Zhiwei to change it...Haha)
Burn Ants (Zhiwei redraw the Ants and Tomato Sauce till he goes crazy...haha)
Costume Party (Used S.H.E at the beginning, that was fun! Woo!)
Volcano Rush (If you can clear you can go buy 4D)
Gutter Run (Sharkpeng falling down is cute)
Catch Me If Can (Zhi Wei "evil" versions of the cute characters...nice)
3D (Would be better if it support 3 digits...heh)

WCG 2005: Basically we just spam Hyper Relay there competing with each other and played Conkers there. Heh. Remember aunties coming up to us and ask "这个可以拿吗?", "可以给两个吗?". Xuan Jie and me was quite pissed off with her and her daughter. Haha. Keep saying them...guess what happened in the end?! Ben, Xuan Jie and me kope 5 times more than them when we basically "dump" the ENTIRE SET of magnets, post-kit and screws into our bag... The bag is still rotting in my cupboard now...don't know what the hell we were doing and brought that back for.

Aftermath: Long story short, we successfully cleared our FYP with great results I must say...Later on, we got to know that a lot of people left Techwah...Xiao Hui...Geraldine. One by one they all left...Is this the end? Later on we went to the Hyper Relay site. Down, can't play, can't do anything...what has become of Edenii? Geez...

Now the only "souvenirs " is the Edenii $5 worth game card, 3 cute little soft toys key chains and ......Hyper Relay Polo T-Shirt.

Update: I just visited edenii site again and was shocked to see that Techwah had ceased all operation on the servers...it means edenii is down. Hyper relay is down. Gone and is now history...does that means we would never get a chance to play Hyper Relay multiplayer together again? Haizz...this is what we call "遗失的美好"......Goodbye Techwah and all staff. Wish you well in all your future endeavors......

Poly Days 7 - Year 2 Sem 2

Alrighty...this is like one of the most stressful semester...And I was "forced" to be the class rap. (At first was quite unwillingly, but was grateful at the end when I saw that it was the Class Rap clause that pushed my CCA points up by 1 grade...heh...)

Being A Class Rap: Not easy man...First you have to go to some place to photocopy stuff...and the assistant class rap will not help you...That's still secondary. Worst is when your classmates "request" that you mark their attendence as they have other "important matters" to attend to...especially during Daryl Lim lesson cause I am afraid he will randomly call out people. Really is 左右为难......

IGRA: Blah!!! Java3D...nothing much to say except for one very stupid thing I did...don't know what came over me. During the mid exam have to draw the curve that will be produce by a formula...I got the correct answer already, but I erase it and draw some crap. Hee...In the end did quite badly for Mid Term.

The Lecturer: Huh...Hubertus...very tall guy (I only a bit higher than his waist...) Strangely...I dont remember much during this time about him...

MMAD: Again don't have much memory. Know first assignment we did a Japanese CD-Rom review.

The Lecturer: Aha...Ms Eileen...I think she's very nice (but many people don't think so...) and I like doing the tutorial sessions (It was almost always some sort of debate)

MMPJ: One thing is...the lecture room is freaking freaking cold. Tutorial is taught by James Ang. Remember once he tried to 挑拨离间 between us...luckily I told him "Please don't jeopardize our relations." Mwahahaha...I think the infamous phrase by Shi Yuan happened during 1 of James tutorial -- "I hate Racist and Indians."

The Lecturer: Daryl is quite a nice guy but he's a bit too...erm...strict and you must adhere to his standards. Remember he will always spend half an hour during the lessons to repeat the SAME THING. "I will treat you guys like adults...", "I won't force you all to buy the textbook...but if you all want to score A...", blah blah, typical of him. Still remember MMPJ Board Game...hoho!

MMAS: Macromedia Director...hmm...that's all. Oh yeah. During one of the lecture he wanted us to do moving an image up or down in director and no one knows how to do, and Ben said "later come out in the exam, he giving us hint now". At that time I was, "LOL 不可能"。In the end...the papers came...REALLY EXACTLY the same question! Geez...What the hell man. Ben got power to predict?!

The Lecturer: James Ang...he is really the model of what I call a 冷面笑将. When he says a joke, his facial expression doesn't change and he gives you that monotone voice. Sometimes you don't even realize he is saying a joke. I remember one of the first few lesson he already say what "No Eye Dear" joke...Ultra lamer. There's another female lecturer during the practical but I forgot her name.

PCT: Woo! This is quite fun because I was quite a hardware newbie back then (Never open my case before) and I was looking forward to it. I really enjoy this module a lot because it's like not stressful at all (partly because of the lecturer). The exam (quiz) was quite lame although...Too bad the teaching materials were quite bad and we were stuck with quite backward stuff...

The Lecturer: My eyes!!! Oh my eyes! Hahaha...he's like the easiest going lecturer in the whole 3 years and always "smiley smiley" (Guess that's why students tends to be more... "disrespectful" to him). Remember during the mid term exam he will even drop some sort of "hints" (Either intentionally or not intentionally). I think Ben told me about him trying to hide the sweets he is eating...sibeh lame.

TBCM: Aha..."General Module", and what's more. One that requires you to talk. I will never forget Stormworks! Adriel, Ken, Mengzhi and Me! Most memorable thing about TBCM is actually the early period where we did all kind of activities to demonstrate communication. Some I can remember is a Murderer game where you use your "eyes" to signal. There's also one where you have to mimic every action your partner is doing, like the mirror. (I was partnered with Ben and he is able to do so many crazy expressions that makes me impossible to imitate...) Hmm...what else. Still remember a "MRT seat selection" and one that I have to talk some gibbeish to Shu Hui (He said I must pretend to be a guy from China "Hei Long Jiang")...dotz...

Another one is of course the Interview. I was extremely nervous before heading in. (I still remember very very cleary I was spamming "Jin Zhong Zhao Tie Bu Shan" all the way to calm myself down)

The Lecturer: Forgot his name...Low Kok Wye or something.

VBAS: Okay......sort of a worthless module I think. Should have replaced it with C++ but...well. The module is very boring to say the least, but the lecturer tried his best to make it interesting already...

The Lecturer: I still remember the joke by Ben. Which lecturer in our school can memorize well? Answer is Ronnie Peh, because "Rong Yi Bei"......almost collapse when I heard that joke. We like to refer to him as "Mickey Mouse" or "Pei Yong Jun"......he's a very friendly guy and it was till then we realize he wrote our DSAL textbook...Lots and lots of errors. "Head Node" became "Headache"...geez.

Summary: Marks the last stressful term~! Senior liao senior liao! Let's...Get ready for...... Gabble.

Or not?

Poly Days 6 - Year 2 Sem 1

Finally Year 2...Foodcourt 5 KFC and Co-Op...Foodcourt 6 Prawn Noodes...Foodcourt 4 Western Food...(Antidote)...Hahaha...Foodcourt 6 Western Food Auntie...-_- Most boring day was friday when you have to sit your way from like 8:30 all the way to 12:30 for 3 consecutive lectures...that was godly. Also around this time, we started to "Trivia Contest" in our class channel IRC...and I started the "Memorable Chat Logs" page to record stuffs...

This is the semester that i started to 脱离 from Jerry and do more projects with Zhi Wei/Ben/Glenn gang. Mwahahahahaha......

CANI: First assignment was pretty fun. Basically, animating is more fun than modelling. Did 2nd assignment with Zhiwei, Ben, Glenn, John and Jerry...Jailbreak! Even won a small award at Animania...

The Lecturer: Personal Tutor Ahmad...don't have much to say. Think he's too sarcastic at times. Which place Issac cannot go in Singapore? Newton...cause apples will fall down on him. Went to watch "Dodgeball" with Adhmad once.

DEUI: Probably 1 of my most hated subjects...I remember got one day we went to the 5th floor to do this "Usability Test"......

The Lecturer: Ho Kah Hong...I still remember the first lesson he said a crap load of lame jokes, and at the end he said "you all laugh laugh laugh...later you go back you forget everything. You only remembered you had a good laugh"...sibeh lame...But I would say he's quite a nice guy. We always joked about his "I believe I can fry~~" and "fresh"......and his nose (I think Zhiwei says he look like a clown...)

DSAL: At first I really couldn't catch this module and mostly were my self studying and experimenting...don't know if it's the lecturer or what...Normally before the DSAL class, our group will go up to the 5th floor staircase area to chit-chat and play...Cluedo!!!

The Lecturer: "Fried Egg". Typical lesson goes like this...walk in from the door and says "Wah...very hot ah". During the lesson..."You believe? Don't believe I show you"...End Of lesson..."So I'll let you go off earlier today." Geez...which lecturer tells their student "You just borrow from the library lah...don't know how to ripped come to me"...Heh...

ELIT: Fifty thousand and 5 years, twenty thousand and 3 years. You will go crazy from memorizing these man......(Anyway I've returned all these back to them after the exam)

The Lecturer: Undiputed Champion of Joker Lecturer. The "comedic scenes" he tells you is not just for the sake of laughing but really helps you understand the lesson a lot more, and the examples he showed us is really interesting. One I remember is he teach us about the contract (agreement is made when recieved). Then he and his "old flame" was across a river or something and he shouted across to her "I love you" but she didnt' hear him and in the end married someone else...damn lame...but the story leave such a deep impression that I never forget the theory portion. Haha. Poly Life would be freaking amazing is every lecturer is like him man...(I would actually looked forward to EVERY SINGLE DAY of Poly Life) Favourite Drink: Coke...

ENT: I actually forgot the name of the product I came up with...Zip Wheel or something...Team mates were Glenn, Ben and...huh...Jun Xiang I think. Forgot...some Xiang one. (Mengzhi Boyfriend)

The Lecturer: Wah...I also thought she look alike to Geraldine...wonder if they're twins?

IWED: Erm...very boring lecture (Many people likes to 'pon' this one). Normally during the lecture he'll show us some sites to illustrate design principles. (But most of the time he'll show as "Monc Blanc") Introduce me to this guy call Jakob Nielson...and his very pro site, useit.com. Assignment did "Mr Coffee" with Glenn...heh...

The Lecturer: Lee Kong Seng (spelling?)...nice guy, but would be better if he can make his lecture more interesting...Mr Tan is assistant during practical.

WWWP: Ok module...did assignment "Movie Craft" with Zhi Wei...Something deadly happened to me during period that left me "cursed" for the next almost 2 years. Some girl (Don't even know her name, hereby after referred to what my classmate known as GGJ) came to me when we were doing our practical to seek help for her assignment. (She's Jolene's -- whom I got to know much later during the ITP, friend) And that left me cursed for the next 2 years...really is...一失足成千古恨。。。

The Lecturer: Lim Chooi Hoe...nice guy, but always don't want to answer your question and want you to go find out yourself. He likes to use the "pen tool" during the lectures...(Ben still say want to buy him a "Tabloid" as a gift...) There's another guy that is the assistant...but he's...not as competent, to be respectful.

Summary: Basically a great semester except the GGJ event which really sucks......Oh yeah. I think during this time, we often went to play Soccer during the lunch time...we played from the stadium area to the basketball court behind FC5...everywhere also play. Also like to slack at the "Cutting Area" and talk about stuff.
