Angry Video Game Nerd

I got to know this guy just recently...

He is just incredibly awesome. I don't know how to put it into words. LOL. You HAVE to watch his videos to experience it yourself.

To put it simply, he review those old school games from the past, from the ages of Atari to Nitendo to Sega.

If you play games from young, great! But even if you don't, you'll laugh till you cry...

If you don't believe me... just watch ONE... one of his countless videos. Note that this video, and basically all his videos, contain a lot of expletives and coarse language. So... you've been warned.

"This game is so hard... it would actually be easier to go outside in a thunderstorm and try to dodge rain."

"Touch the ceiling you die, touch the floor you die, a little to left you die... a little to right you die...you die! you die! you die! you die! die die die die die!"

If you don't find that funny I don't know what to say... If you like it, this is another one for your viewing pleasure. Haha.

"Do you stand? Do you duck? Either way, you're f***ed"
"Oh god...please no....PLEASE....no... (priceless expression)"

To someone...

Please lah...

缺德事不要做这么多。

这个世界上有一种东西叫报应。

There is something known as bad karma.

There is something known as retribution.

One day, everything will come back to you.

Serving under a tyrannical king...

This is sort of a sequel to the "Top of the Pyramid" post, and I want to explore this subject further - because certain things have happened, or are going to happen...

In an argument, which factor stands higher? Power & Authority, or Facts & Reasons? Whether you agree or not, it's definitely the former.

When you have power, when you have authority, you are ALWAYS right. Yes, always. Isn't there a saying in the service sector that goes "the customer is always right"? That's because they have the money, and money is power, money is authority.

Even with reason on your side, it is entirely useless against a greater power. It is pointless. A loyal adviser can only suggest the best cause of action, but it is the King who decides. The King decides the fate of all his men and people. And when you are ruled by a despotic and tyrannical King, you can only hope for the best.

The King doesn't understand the pain of his people. He only cares about how he's going to build the perfect country, to draft more military for war, to make his men work harder, to carry out harsher punishments, to implement tougher laws, to rise the taxes... etc...

In the end, it is those at the bottom who suffer... Haiz...

Imagine you are a servant for a King like this. A king so evil and merciless. Yet, you cannot turn on him, nor defect to another country. It's hell... you just have to resign to your fate. How can there be someone so uncaring and emotionless. All your people hates you, do you know that?

Those who knows, will know.

In a chaotic era like these... will an uprising help to bring down this domineering and overbearing moron?

Facebook... Sucks.

I've never been a fan of those social profiling sites. Or "social network service" according to wiki.

Friendster, MySpace, Facebook... never caught my attention.

I signed up for Friendster long time ago out of curiousity, but I've never used it since. I signed up for Facebook not long ago after an invitation, but I barely used it anyway.

Let's see... Facebook is WAY too complicated. Actually... complicated is not the right word. It's more like... tedious. The interface is clunky, you are fed with too much unnecessary information, 99% of the games and applications are pointless...

The first day I signed up, it look like it's going to be good. But I lost interest after using it for 30 minutes. First, every single thing any of your friend do will be fed as news to you. Then, you got like 1 million requests for you to install stupid "plugins" to your page, which just serve to clutter your main page. Look at how many stupid requests I've got after 1 month.

Sorry, but I got sick of handling these crap. It's more like a chore than something fun. It's like having to go through spam when you're reading emails.

Yes. SPAM. All these applications are FREAKING USELESS. What's the point of having those things that poke your friends? The first time I received it, I was like... WTF?!

Then there are those werewolves invitations, vampire invitations, zodiac invitations, even "dim sum" invitations.

Oh Yeah~~ those are some REAL USEFUL shit.

I'm sorry but I've never bothered to even look through those. I think it's a total waste of time. I mean... tell me seriously, what's the point to poke your friend? or tickle him? or whatever?

Everytime I login, I got to handle numerous requests, and see one whole page of feed that shows who I've been poked by, and who just break his own high score in which game. Or worse, who has install what application.

Do I look like I frigging care? -_-

You don't even have much control over what news get feed to you. Yes, there's some sort of sliders but it's vague and you can't have precise control. I have no idea how Facebook got as big as it did. It is just a fad. Yes, it does have some potential and neat ideas, but it's way too cluttered and complex.

I have once sat down and said, "Okay, let me use an hour or two to customize my Facebook"...

But I gave up.

It's something you have to put in effort everyday to keep it up to date (there's like ten thousand new applications released everyday). Oh, that 'request' screenshot I posted above? I've only got less than 10 friends in my profile and that's what I got. I cannot imagine what kind of nightmare I will have if I add like 100 friends. It's like subscribing to 100 spamming websites.

The main problem I have is that there is way too much going on. It is impossible to review them all. Your friend invite you to play this game with him, oh gotta play this IQ quiz with that guy, gotta join the vampire club, gotta return a tickle to her... gotta gotta gotta.

Bottom line: Facebook Sucks. You can find more reasons here.

Jay Chou Parody Remakes

For some reason, lot of people LOVE remaking Jay's MTVs and songs. The following are my hand-picked, Top 5 Remakes.

Number 5 - Jay's Chou "Tui Hou". Of course, it makes use of Jay's bad pronunciation to sub it with some explicit lyrics. This one goes into the 5th place, because only the chorus part is quite funny. The rest are just fillers. Some of the words are also quite forced.

"姿势忘了怎么退后?姿势放松会比较好做"

Number 4
- "Feng", and the creator sequel to the infamous "Qi Li Xiang". Not as funny, but at least all the words fits perfectly.

"我那谁模的球舔"

Number 3
- "Fa Ru Xue". There were like at least 3 remakes of this songs on Youtube, but this one is the best. It's not too crude/vulgar like one of them, and it's not too "chim" until you can barely understand.

"你爽没?苦痛也换不回。。。我蛋袋插牢了谁"...

Number 2
- "Qian Li Zhi Wai". This is the only one on the list that is a KTY. (Changing the lyrics) And it's the only one that is not explicit. LOL. It's about owning someone 10 dollars and how someone took revenge on him... The part where the curtains opens and Fei Yu Qing begins to sing is hilarious...

"我送你投胎,欠我十块,你死了活该。。。"

Number 1
- "Qi Li Xiang"... Haha. I think this is still the best even though it's bee around for a long time. What Jay sings and the lyrics matches almost perfectly. If you don't know the original song you'll probably think that that is the lyrics itself.

"你说你舍不得吃掉这种感觉"

What's the point... what's the point?

Getting more and more peeved... I think he did it on purpose. He's really a bastard.

Say liao also my fault.

Don't say also my fault.

Argue also my fault.

Explain also my fault.

What's the point?

WHAT'S THE DAMN POINT.

I give up.

Almost lost my HP... almost...

Wah...today really high sia...

For a moment I really thought I lost the phone. I was like...

S.H.I.T!

When I realize it wasn't with me.

Luckily, I regain my composure and quickly traced back to where I last used the phone. It's either at the stupid island, or on the bus. Hopefully it's the latter.

I called back to the bus company, got the bus IC phone no, and finally got to the driver number. He was like "What?! You're telling me now?", as he dropped us off like 1/2 hr ago.

Luckily, he quick check and my phone was still on the bus...

He'll passed on to today OD guys...

Damn...

I'm damn lucky...

$400 -_-

Use less than 2 months nia...

Guess I'll have to be extra extra extra careful next time.

College Saga

This video is one of the MOST entertaining video I've EVER seen. You probably won't get it if you don't play console RPGs though.

It's a must see if you're a fan of RPGs (particularly those old school rpgs). Lots of elements are derived from Final Fantasy (especially FF8), some from Zelda, and other minor RPGs. The music and sound effects really bring back memories.

Best parts are probably the "Chocobo Riding", "Dick Cheney", "meeting with Leviathan"... many many more.

Imagine your life as an RPG...

Media Monkey

Haha... just used my brother credit card to hoot up MediaMonkey (MM) lifetime license. It took LONG enough man... real long. Somehow, I felt that it's about time I give tribute to the developers for creating such a godsend piece of program. It's a musical heaven~

About 2 years ago, I got sick of Winamp, of Window Media Player, of iTunes, of Realplayer, of MusicMatch, of all the major music managers/players out that you can think of. I began on a journey to search for the BEST music player of all. I couldn't recalled how many I actually tried (From open source to trial products, from freeware to shareware)... every single one I could get my hands on.

Until I settled on MM, and I've never regret it to this day.

Been using it for over a year now, and when MM3 moves closer and closer to release date (saw it went from alpha to beta to RC), I know it's time I contribute to this project. Originally wanted to wait till the release of MM3, but I couldn't resist after trying out RC1... went to hoot the lifetime license right away. Hahaha...

The best things about MM is its great versatility. You can make almost any function, any addition features you want yourself by using scripting, customizing the player itself to your liking. It has a great community that keeps updating scripts and coming out with new functions all year round.

I've just moved to MM3, and since MM3 is really new (it's not even released yet in fact), there isn't really much available yet. Here are some of my favourite screenshots of different people's MM... really shows you to what extend you can "individualize" your music jukebox.

Hope I got you interested. If you're a music lover and still using "crap" like Winamp, give MM a try. You can use the free version for unlimited period, and it contains all the basic functionalities.

Gold version contains stuffs like Advanced Search (e.g. Bring me a list of all chinese songs between 2000 to 2005, with a 4 star rating above), File Monitor and other features to allow you to customize your library even further.

I would even go as far as to say that MM changed my computing experience, and I'll definitely rate it as the top 3 most important programs I've used. (And using)

Try it out!

K9KBox

Before that, I'm quite upset with a new system being implemented. I think it's extremely tiring to proceed to the washing after running... but bo bian...

And the worse thing is cannot take off on these days! WTH?! All my support this entire month is ON those days. God... how you want me to clear?

*Take knife and stabs myself

Took half day off, went out with Joseph, Mun Wei, Wei Long, Edwin and Benjamin to KBox. Been a long time since I've been to one. (Outcast by Pol... nevermind)

Joined later by Joseph's girl and Yun Zhen. Nothing much.... I thought the last 45 minutes was more worth it than the 4 hours in front... ^_^

I guess there are really 2 types of songs in KTV. Those that let you show off your skills, and those that let you scream and 'get high'. LOL. We spammed all the 2nd type of songs at the end. When you get everyone to sing together, whether the tune/pitch is correct no longer matters that much... Hahaha. We just need it to be LOUD.

Really tired now. The morning run (after missing it for nearly a month) is starting to get to me now. I'm really sleepy...

I think I need to come up with a "Sleep Deprivation Act" (A set of rules that I had to adhere to strictly for my own good)....

Next time... next time...

Flooded E-mail!

Walau... I'm so fed up with my email accounts.

I use 2 of them, one for more important and official stuffs (like school). The other for misc stuffs like gaming sites etc.

This system was great until... somehow, someway, my "official email" get flooded with lots of crap. I think I happened to sign up some crap sites with that email, and now I'm getting spam, spam and more spam.

It's been over a year now I think. I remembered that time, 2 weeks i never check the mail... 200 pieces of junk on my Thunderbird. I've used the junk filter again and again and again, but it just doesn't seem to do any good to the endless stream of spam. In fact, my "junk mail" actually became cleaner then the official one. (because it got deactivated for long period of inactivity)

Anyway, I'm so fed up with it that I give up maintaining. I clean once and the next time I check, around 50 mails of junk. Things to do increasing the size of something by about 1000000%, or some lottery of $100 billion dollars (making you richer than bill gates) scam and all sorts of shit.

For every authentic mail (invitations to facebook, newsletter that I actually subscribed), I got about 20 junk mails. I'm really sick of it.

I want to start a new email account, but what am I suppose to do with all those things I needed in the old mail? Can I make them "auto transfer" to the new email? I don't want to go around a dozen websites signing up again using the new email.

Any ideas? -_-

The last time I picked up a storybook...

That was like...

Let's just say, F-ing long ago!

Oh, by a "storybook", I don't mean books like "1001 ways to program in C++" or "Get rich in 24 hours" or "How to attain immortality"... or any stuffs like that. Not auto-biographies, some technical or travel books. Not a "subject" book that you have to study in school.

I'm talking about a "Storybook" here. You know, things like "Snow White & The Seven Cinderellas" or something.

I know I haven't did in years. The last storybook I read was probably back in Secondary school. I'm 90% sure.

Well anyway, I just dropped by the Library to borrow a "storybook" last week - to make the passing of time in OD easier... I don't think I can't stand romance stories that spend about 500 pages on how a girl and a guy spend their time together. I thought a thriller would be best for my "First Storybook" in such a long time.

Eventually picked up one by Lynn Abercrombie called "Blind Fear". Awesome choice.

The story is enticing and intriguing. In fact, I originally plan to read it only at OD, but sometimes I couldn't resist continuing it at home. Haha. Here's a brief overview of the plot:

A detective was blinded and placed in a room. At first, it seems that she's alone in the room. But somehow she has an unmistakable feeling that someone else is in the room with her. Someone breathing and moving. The person won't speak a word with her though...

She eventually made connection with a friend on the "outside world". But time is running out. She have to solve a murder case from nearly 2 decades ago by working with the detective outside. If they find out who the killer is, gather compelling and unambiguous evidence for an arrest, and then make the actual arrest within the alloted time, she'll survive. Else, she will die inside the room. She can only receive 3 calls every hour, each lasting 1 minute. There are clues inside the room, and the killer is outside. But what can she do when she's blinded? O_O

That's the synopsis~ I love the way the plot was presented, by switching between the stories of the 2 characters back and forth each chapter. Chapter 1 talks about what's happening inside, Chapter 2 outside, etc... as they slowly match clues with each other and make progress towards the truth.

Some books required you to read about 100 chapters before you even get into the story. This one jumps you into it straight away. I was hooked from like chapter 2 onwards. (And each chapter only lasts 5 pages average, sweet) The writing is simple and easy to understand - perfect for people whose English is "1/2 bucket water" (like me).

I haven't completed it yet though. 3/4 there. Think I can finish it by this weekend~

The Hilarious, The Amazing & The Bizarre II

Top 5 Videos for this time...

Number 5 - The main hit from Ah Du new album, known as "Cha Yi Dian" (Miss by a little)... The song is really nice. But again, someone has to make a joke out of it... It's now known as "Cha Yi Dian Zhong Ma Piao".

Number 4 - A parody of what can be consider Rainie Yang's trademark song - Ideal Lover. You sort of have to see the original MV before you can comprehend how creepy this video is. It's not just "funny"... You can feel a chill when watching this... Imagine if Mike and Rainie really look like that...

Number 3 - Awesome Japanese Commercial... I shall not spoil it...but the build up is pretty intense.

Number 2 - An oldies song made into a "Sims 2 MV". Listen to the lyrics carefully... when you give up trying to figure out the relationships, click here for a thorough analysis.

Number 1 - By Buffalaxed, the "Subtitler". You don't even need to learn Tamil to understand what they're singing. Everything is "translated" for you... You won't get it if you know Tamil though, that's the awesome thing. Only people that don't know the language will get it...

"I Love To See You Pee On Us Tonight!"

Top of the pyramid...

Sometimes, it's sad how a single decision by ONE person can affect the lives of so many. Many as in hundreds, thousands and even millions.

But millions is a bit far-fetch here. You'll have to be talking about some great conquerors and kings of the past (Genghis Khan?) to have such a worldwide impact.

That's beside the point though. Notice I use "sad" to describe this effect. I don't use "amazing" or "awesome" or some positive adjective - cause for me, at least for now, I think it's not ideal for a single person to have such a huge influence.

But sadly, the world is build around this "system". People influence each other. And some people, particularly those with power or are incredibly famous, have a greater influence than others. When an influence grows so powerful, it's no longer just "influence". It's called "control". Control over other people.

This system is everywhere. In schools, in cooperates, in the house, in you know where. Parents control their kids, teachers control their students, bosses control their workers. The level is different of course. When you are at the "top of the pyramid", everyone has to obey your orders. You can mess up, you can come up with some incredible (actually ridiculous) plans, you can do all sort of f-shit you want...

Then the people below you will have to "just do". If they don't, they'll face the consequences. Sometimes very serious consequences.

Why are those are the top so nasty? So mean? So evil? Why can't they spare a thought for those at the bottom. You decided to do something just for the heck of it, something just for fun, something which serves no purpose. And those below would have to work like a dog to get it done.

I hope they get their retribution for doing this.

Next time, if you ever climb to a higher level on this pyramid, please spare a thought for those below you. A simple decision by you can have a long lasting and deep impact on their lives... Please don't give the "Anyway is not I do what. Might as well order them to work like ****".

If you think this way...well...

DAMN YOU TO HELL!
