Suikoden V is here!

That day blog until halfway. Haha. Anyway, went to Matthew house after the Chalet and settle some computer issues with him. Although I'm not very proficient, I can at least gave him some advice on his computer...(Super low RAM...)

Anyway, borrowed some games from him and finally got Suikoden V - My favourite RPG series of all time. So you probably guessed what I've been doing these few days. Spamming the game. Spam and Spam. I'm almost at the 30 hours gameplay now...haha.

Haven't complete it (Probably halfway I think), so can't give my opinion yet. But so far it's definitely better then S3 and S4. But can it top Suikoden 2? (My top 5 Favourite RPG) Well...we shall see how the storyline goes...Before I leave,

Let our mercy, as deep as the Feitas, and our authority, as powerful as the Sun, be revealed to the entire world! (Pledge of Falena Queendom)

Class Chalet No.2

Yes! I'm back from the 3 days 2 nights class chalet from 23th Apr (mon) to 25th Apr (wed).

Day 1 - We reach there as usual and while waiting, me and Ben came up with a lame joke about Xia Yi...Anyway it was raining heavily and the whole house was wet (The Chalet at Aloha Loyang is almost the same as the one Mr Lee brought us to during my Sec4 Days...)

Anyway, the floor was very dirty and there's a extremely smelly room that no one dares to go into for the rest of the 2 days...We basically played Xbox, cards and BBQ till the night, where the real "fun" begins. Later, we set down and ate Macdonalds and taught Adriel how to play the "Blow Cow King". After that we played the long awaited...Water Bombs!

The whole group spent some hard time thinking of games to "not waste the water bombs" and make sure the games are fun. We tried to play DodgeBombs but it's over too fast. Later on, we played a "hide and whack" games. Some neighbouring tenants came over and asked to join in. If I remember correctly, they're called Gene, Crystal and Bubbles...very lame...-_- (Don't want to say...)

Anyway, we finally came up with the idea where we were each given a "target" to attack, and does not know whos' going to target us. We played 2 rounds...1st round Sean was super 'jian'...He came running towards me shouting "Adriel is coming after me"...and hit me when I was not paying attention...Second game I hit MengZhi after I've "died". Haha -_-

The 2nd last game we tried was a "Protect the Queen Bee" game, but it was quickly disrupted by security, saying the nearby condo tenants were complaining we were too loud. We finally "retreated" into the house, where we play a "Agree or Disagree" game, where each person sticks a card on their-forehead, and must try to "predict" if his own card is bigger than the other. Very interesting game, and I was lucky that i didn't get hit once at all! (And manage to whack a few Sean and Xuan Jie quite a few times...haha!)

Day 2 -I quickly got out of it midway and went to bath. Zhiwei lent me his "Kodomo" and "Wu Bi Gao". Haha! By then it was already 6 and I went to bed. Didn't sleep much, woke up at around 8 and played Mahjong again. Mess around a bit, cook some "Mee Goreng" to fill my stomach before sleeping again at 12. Woke up at 3. Ordered a big meal of KFC! Day 2 is sleep day :P

At around 6, they gathered around and played Blackjack. Initially didn't join in as I was playing Winning Eleven with Ze Yu aka Lamb. Joined in later with 20 cents and won a bit before they switch to the dreaded "In Between" game...Very very very stressful game. We started out very small, but soon the bets started to escalate and we have people calling $2. The "milestone" came when Sean called $2, and paid a double of $4. Yi Wen got a chance and won all of it.

I thought it was over, then came even bigger bets. Ken called $4 with like a 2 and a K, and paid doubled! It went to around $10+ and that crazy Meng Zhi called a "Lucky number $8"...yep. Mission Failed + Doubled. Lot of ups and downs after that. We all became quite conservative after that, trying to slowly "leech away" the money with 50 cents and at most $1 calls...

We continued for a LONG time, with numerous chances but no one seems to be able to clear it. Towards the end, we decide that if we go 1 more round to Ken and the game doesn't end, we'll just split the money. I think it was during my turn to deal. Meng Zhi called a $10 and a luckily got it! (Whew...I'll go crazy if it escalate agani) Whew...but still got about $16+ left in the pile. Next turn Xuan Jiei deal. I got a 9 and J. When it reaches Meng Zhi turn, Xuan Jie gave him a 10. I thought I would have no more chance but miraculously, the next is is STILL a 10! Haha...

Day 3 - Seems like Lady Luck is shining on me. I won about $16 that around, minus my "losses" earlier, so about $12. After that game, we went to the KTV and the bill's about that too. So guess I won a free KTV session. Nothing much during the KTV, except I got to know about a lot of nice songs! We went "separate ways" after that, as most of them went to watch soccer. Me, Lamb and Zhiwei went back to the Chalet. I had a early night and slept from 3 to 8.

Left together with the both of them as well as they sent me to the Interchange, still got something on.

The Cage + The Mind

Went to The Cage with my friends yesterdayto play soccer for the first time. Before that I went to collect my long over-due passport, which they state in the letter:

"If you do not collect it by May...the passport will be invaildated and the money will not be refuned"...

Anyway after that we went to the Mind Cafe. (http://www.themindcafe.com.sg/index.php)
Very interesting place I like to visit again! (Located at Dhoby Ghaut opposite Paradiz Center)

We played a lot of games (Although I don't remember the names) like

1) Ask question with contestants and audiences
2) One game where we have to write down what we think i the correct answer
3) FLUX, a very fun game with ever changing rules
4) An animal making game which is hilarious.

We came up with lots of hilarious "representation" of our enemies, like "Wo Hoot Chou", "Mor Zuay Zuay", "Yuan Zi Miao", "Da Ru Niu" and "Chee Chee Cheese". Very lame game but we had lots of fun.

Anyway I've just recieved my enlistment letter later that night. Date: 7th September. Looking forward to it, although I'm extremely disappointed that it's not in June. Guess I have to look for a job now. Glenn said Koei has some job opening but I'm not sure if it's viable. Whether I get a job eventually or not in the end, I vow not to waste this 5 months.

I will at least do lots of self studying. J2Me, SQL and Oracle, ASP and PHP and JSP, BRING IT ON! I may not master them, but I want to be at least moderately proficient in most of them. My plan is to pick up 1 techonology every 2 weeks, and if its' good I'll continue to learn more. That's the spirit!

Oh and finally, Monday would be our Class 2nd Chalet!!! Woo! Can't wait! I could show them all the magic tricks I've picked up from Andy Guo VCD! Hahaha!

The Story of Yue Gui Nu Shen...

Recently did a poll on S.H.E Angelic forum about S.H.E best song to date...Yep. The result is what I expected, and yes, I think it's the best (At the very least top 3) S.H.E Song - Yue Gui Nu Shen, translated as the Laurel goddess. I think this song is absolutely wonderful. The feeling of mythology, the melody and their voices combination is so perfect. If you understand the background story of this ancient greek mythology, you could appreciate the song even more.

And the story goes...

Apollo was the god of music and also of prophecy, colonization, medicine, archery (but not for war or hunting), poetry, dance, intellectual inquiry and the carer of herds and flocks. Apollo, as with Zeus his father, had many love affairs with goddesses and mortals. Apollo's infatuation for the nymph Daphne, which had been invoked by the young god of love Eros, because Apollo had mocked him, saying his archery skills were pathetic, and Apollo's singing had also irritated him.

Apollo was a great archer, but sometimes he was a little full of himself. One day he caught sight of Eros, the son of Aphrodite. Eros was also an archer, and his arrows were responsible for instilling the twists and turns of love and lust in a person's heart. Apollo teased young Eros, putting down his abilities as an archer, claiming that one so small could make no difference with his arrows.

Angry at this insult, Eros shot two arrows, one tipped in gold, one blunted and tipped with lead. The arrow dipped in gold had the power to create insatiable lust in a person, while the other created absolute abhorrence towards all things romantic and passionate. The unfortunate soul who was struck with that arrow would have no desire to love anyone. The arrow dipped in gold struck Apollo, but the arrow dipped in lead struck fair Daphne.

Daphne was the daughter of the river god Peneus. Apollo chased down the maiden, desperate for her love, but she wanted nothing to do with him, and she ran from him endlessly. Soon, she grew weary in her running and that Apollo would ultimately catch her. Fearful, she called out to her father for help. As all gods of water posses the ability of transformation, Peneus transformed his daughter into a laurel tree. Suddenly her legs took root, and her arms grew into long and slender branches.

Apollo reached the laurel tree, and, still enamored with Daphne, held the tree in a special place in his heart. He claimed the tree the as his special tree, and adorned himself with some of it's leaves. And that is why the laurel was, and still is, a symbol of the god Apollo.

Old friend - Jia Jun!

Wow, surprise surprise today! I met my old primary school buddy Jia Jun~! It was really like a "twist of fate".

I went swimming, then a haircut at my aunt house. Just then it was going to rain and I had to wait for the rain to stop at her house. (And watching her lecture her son...haha)

Anyway, I reached the bus interchange and head to Long John, KFC but "amazingly" decides not to buy anything in the end. As I reached the bottom of the bus interchange escalator, i suddenly recall that I have forgotten to top up my EZ-Link Card. I then turn and ride upwards again!

And there he is riding down on the opposite side! Glad he can still recognize me! Anyway, I only manage to wave to him before he got out of view. I went to top up the card and then to take a bus...guess what! He's taking the same bus as me! Haha. Really coincidence!

Anyway, we chat a lot about old times and our old classmates. Got his phone number and MSN! Gonna keep contact!

Luo Han Fish....IDA Scholarship

The Luo Han fish that has been with us for almost 2 years was found dead yesterday morning. So sad...my brother forgot to brought the filter and left the fish in a red pail of water. The fish ran of out air and died...My mother was so sad. I was feeling pretty down for a while too. That fish was very smart and could recognize the owners (us). It'll jump around and stuffs to get your attention for you to feed it. Really sad that it passed away like this.

Anyway, I'm currently applying for the IDA Scholarship. Still looking for a final referee. The form I had to fill for the scholarship also made me rethink many of my future plans. I believe strongly I am on th right track. Wish me well!
