When we were little kids, we make friends with people we like. We hang out with them because we share common interests, because we enjoy their company, because we can talk to them about our problems, because we need a listening ear...
Etc...
Everything was simple and straightforward.
If we don't like someone, we just tell him "I don't friend you already!"
...
^_^
...
But somehow as we grow up...
There becomes more and more pretendence in even simple things like this.
Somehow, we have to pretend to like somebody due to all sorts of reasons.
Perhaps due to his power and authority.
Or due to his wealth and fortune.
Or his intelligence and diligence.
In summary, we pretend to like him because he is "useful" to you. Because pretending to be "buddy buddy" with him is beneficial to you.
...
It's ridiculous.
Ridiculous.
Seen too much of these.
...
Sadly, it's unavoidable in this pretentious world.
And we are both victim and culprit of such atrocious acts.
...
...
...
I want to go back to the purest kind of friendship.
The kind of friendship we foster when we were young children.
The kind of friends whom you can share your problems, your happiness, whom you can trust.
The friends who like you for your personality and your character, not how many condos you own, not how high ranking you are, not how many distinctions you can get, etc...
