Plot Summary: A group of Chinese soldiers organization are seeking the "Potion of Immortality" to revive the dead Emperor and rule over the world... Who can stop him?
If you look at the trailer, it's like watching 10 different movies "rojak" together. It goes from the Asian to the Western world, from the ancient to modern age, from swords to guns, from the land to the skies.
It's not until you see the movie itself that you finally see how they can mange to piece such radically different things together. Still, I have to say that the storyline is quite ridiculous and overly-exaggerated. The Mandarin they speak (except for Jet Li) are also too "robotic" and "westernize" for my liking.
If you can ignore that, this is really not a bad movie. And if you like to watch huge explosions, magical spells, giant mythical creatures and some epic battle scenes, this is the movie for you!
Almost everything of about it is BIG scale and massive, especially when you watch it in the cinema. The Snow Avalanche and the chase on the Shanghai streets are the best parts of this movie in my opinion.
If you want to enjoy this movie, then don't read into the plot too deeply. Don't think about why she didn't do this or why he don't do that. (E.G Why don' the Emperor just transform into a dragon and burn them all in the final battle)
Just sit back, relax and enjoy the CGI, spectacular special effects and massive scale of the movie.
Rating: 3.5 / 5
