Quarantine (2008)

Quarantine

Gosh... watched another dumb-ass movie today. Really felt like wasted money. Spoilers below...

...

First, the plot.

Well.

Frankly speaking, I can't even say anything about it.

You know why?

Cause there is NO PLOT in this story.

Well, almost none.

Basically, a group of people got trapped inside a building. And at the end, all of them died.

Yes.

When I said all, I do mean ALL.

Including the main character herself.

That's the entire plot.

There is no twist, no character development, no greater conspiracy involved, no nothing.

Just a movie about every single person dying off 1 by 1 (or sometimes in larger quantities). There's no resolution to the story either.

...

I'll give the movie some credits for making use of the "camera man" as a character in the movie. So basically you're like watching through the DV Recorder of the main character in the story. (There's a term for this technique but I forgotten what it's called.)

There are pros and cons of course. The good thing is it feels much more "real", almost like you're seeing from the characters perspective. And some parts can be quite chilling (especially the last 15 minutes or so)

The bad thing about this is at certain times, it can get REAL annoying with all the zooming in and out, blurring, shaky cameras... Just picture what a person escaping from zombies will film... -_-

Still, I can't recall when was the last time I saw something filmed from such interesting perspective. So it kind of refreshing for me.

Other than that... not much to say about this horror flick...

Not really scary except for certain portions here and there (especially towards the ending). Some portion can really get on your nerves though... kind of gory.

That's about it.

This film receives almost zero (for plot) from me for its almost non-existence plot - No explanation on how they resolve the whole matter, no mention of what's with all those virus articles, no mention of who made and developed the virus. Nothing.

Still, the presentation aren't too bad and it "serves its purpose as a horror movie."

Rating: 2.0 / 5 (Guess What? The scene on the poster is the LAST scene in the movie.)

Went to have a run after that. Tried to jio some people out, but all sibeh attitude lot of excuses. Even SK, the "Mr Muscle" guy... yesterday ask him on MSN, say what "anything".

Then morning ask him go, say what after rain the floor wet... What the hell loh...

In the end nevermind... go run myself...

As expected, my physical fitness have deteriorate to beyond comprehension... -_-

How the hell did I manage to run 10KM back in the Kindergarten?

Jeez...
