Click - Probably the most emotional movie I've ever seen

Went to watch "Click" today with Ben and Ken. First spotted the poster at causeway and thought Comedy was its selling point. Panadol and Toby both gave high opinions of this movie so I decided to watch it. Have to say it's well worth the money...

I give it 9 out of 10, simply because no movie is perfect. The best part is not the comedy, but the meaning behind the whole thing.

Not afraid to admit that I cried when I watch the show. Really cried. (Yeah I also got emotions) Click was the 2nd movie that made me cried in my entire life. Really very touching and thought-provoking movie...

First part was all comedic fun and did a good job of building up the characters. The emotions started to build when the remote foward everything by 1 year. At that time I was like..."oh no...please don't". I forgot a huge part but the scene that really touched me was when he rewinded back to the last time he saw his grandfather.

The man was like old and wrinkled already...then he slowly walked up to him and just want to spend some time with his son. Then that "bastard" shouted at him, "I know the coin trick long ago! Leave me alone! I need to work!"

Wah...tell you...my heart really sank...I can totally feel the effect, the position of the grandfather character at that moment of time. It was such a powerful emotion. It's like you can feel the disappointment, the sorrow and bitterness of the grand-father.

Then it went to a scene at the ball where he talk to his mother. He ran up and hug her, then told her "I love you, ma." and she replied "your father would be so proud of you"...Whew...that part got to me as well. Of course the final scene at the hospital where he ran out into the rain (climax), wanting to tell his son, "Family is more important", because he don't want his son to repeat his mistakes...His voice is all hoarse and he finally collapsed in the rain...Wah...cry like siao.

I think "Click" touched me so much because it is so true to life. There are many 'tear-jerker' type of movie out there, but they never get to me because they are so unrealistic that they're never going to happen in real life. I'm not a person that cry very easily but these things really get to me. Those 至亲至爱 people in your life. Like the parents unconditional love for the child etc...those kind of scenes really stirred up my emotions. Stuff like "Titanic" (Tragic love story) don't get to me so much. Maybe I feel touched but it isn't so strong till it made me want to cry.

"Click" is so...realistic, so real that I can relate to very well. You don't have to use poetic terms to relate to people. Who the hell use perfect words and "chimernology" terms when he's under an extreme emotion. No one converse like that in real life. The simple "I love you, son" (together with the expression, the body lanaguage) already contains so much emotion in itself. You don't need to add unnecessary stuff to it. 2 things I "learnt":

1) Experience all the Good and Bad things in Life - Whether it's pleasure or pain, happiness or sadness, even boredom, things that you hate to do and things that you love to do. Do not "skip" them. They are your experience, and all of them, good or bad, add to your life.

2) Family (Kinship) is more important than stupid work. Reminds me of a song that goes by like "就算站在世界的顶端,身边没有人陪伴,又怎样。" (Even if you're standing at the top of the mountain, what's the point if there's no one by your side)

Really really great movie. I love this movie.

Happy 41st Birthday Singapore!

Old liao old liao...Happy happy day...went to run in the evening and manage to get a 13min out of the 2.4km run. Looks like I'll be back at 12min+ in no time! Wee~~

I realize you need some sort of leverage, else you'll give up very easily. Like, tell yourself, "If I don't get this timing, I will be subjected to XXX". Of course the timing must be practical also. But giving yourself some sort of stipulation (even though it might not happen) is usually enough to give you the willpower to run even when you're out of breath.

After that went to causeway to walk around, see games and stuff. Saw a bunch of uncles crowdnig around the electronic store......to watch......the TV...which was showing......National Day Parade! (And it's President Arrival)

What the......so Patriotic? Anyway, like one of my friend said, few years ago National Day, you see red everywhere and almost every household were hanging their flags. Now...you only see a few here and there scattered around, and the first impression is that they must be "RC member". Haha...

Watch the National Parade (a little) on TV, and caught the Fireworks...wah...The Fireworks Festival one is totally cannot compare (although it was longer) to National Day Parade one. NDP is super spammed. I wonder how many millions they spent on that 3 minutes long fireworks.

Singapore Fireworks Festival 2006

Hmm...I noticed that I've changed a lot in the past 3 months...as in...I'm doing some "crazy" things that I will never ever have done in the past. Like...erm...going out with near complete strangers. 2 times with online friends. I think maybe i cope myself up at home too long, or likely I going into the Army soon.

Outing was quite a "failure" cause many peopele that said they were coming but didnt came in the end. Haha. Outing group was SHEA forum members, and our main goal was to see the Fireworks Festival (suggested by Trenz). I think I've only seen Fireworks live once in my entire life, and that is during the primary school where we were brought to see the National Day preview. (Heh) So I was quite looking forward to it.

Some of them were totally different from what I had expected. First off went to KBox sing song. (Horribly expensive, outrageous remote control, small screen and sucky service) It was alright except it's pretty one sided. The only good point is you get to see lot of S.H.E songs being chosen and we all know how to sing. Haha.

After that went to Suntec, play Arcade and 'makan'. Chit chat and stuff. Then came the "Main Event" of the night...The Fireworks! Walked to Esplanade...geez that place is super crowded. The entire bridge area is filled with people and you can barely walk through path. (It's like Chinese New Year Chinatown)

After some delay by the sarcastic host the show finally began. 5th August one was the display by Italy (The festival actually last a few days with different countries on each date). Our spot was not very perfect and blocked by 1 freaking tree, but still can see quite clearly (But the angle is limited). Fireworks was splendid~(But too much air pollution)

Youtube Link

You can't really feel the impact by watching the video. When you're there, you can almost feel your heart beat thump along with every "boom" the fireworks make. (especially the super loud ones). Many surprises and the crowd will all go like "wooooo~". Best part was at the end when they basically "spammed" everything they got and filled the sky with all sort of colours. I still remember the final effect was they release lots of little red flares up, then they all burst and burst into some meteors and drizzle down. As they fall slowly they leave a trailing fire effect, very very nice. Unfortunately we didn't manage to record till that part... :(

That's all for the day~

Roar! 12 Rounds!

34 minutes...almost fainted from exhaustion at the end of the run. Throat was so dry and my tongue is like totally dried up. It reminds me of my "Secondary School Cross Country"...

Not to mention I spent 5 minutes in the changing room looking for my specs after taking them off...only to find it in my bag later...-_- (Run till "ki siao")

1 Thing I'm worried...I tried running the 6 rounds, 2.4km again last 2 days, and I took almost 14 minutes...geez.

So basically, now I'm at, 14 minutes for 6 rounds, 34 minutes for 12 rounds. I think I've been running the "more rounds at slower pace" for too long liao...now it's hard to go back to the 2.4km run speed.

I'll work my 2.4km back to 12 minutes first before I start doing 4.8km stunt again...
